Appliance Fitting
Let us fit your non-plug-in electrical appliances such as cookers and extractor fans. We can hardwire all appliances to their own individual circuits. Once fitted, we’ll test your appliance as per the manufacturer’s instructions and make sure it’s working properly.
Consumer Units
We can upgrade your old fusebox or plastic consumer unit to the latest BS EN 61439 standards. We also install additional consumer units for refurbishments and extensions. Correct fitting is essential as the consumer unit controls the electricity in your home and prevents accidents such as electrocution, electrical fires, and overloaded circuits/appliances.
Cooker & Appliance Circuits
If you want appliances moved to a new location or are having new ones fitted, we’ll fit the required circuits and switches. Simultaneously, we’ll make sure that switches are away from cooker hot zones and don’t interfere with any other appliances or switches.
Earthing & Bonding
Earthing and bonding ensure current is taken to the earth, and electric shocks don’t occur if anyone accidentally touches a part of the live system. Earthing and Bonding are inspected and adjusted every time a new electrical installation’s undertaken. Our electrician will ensure it’s up to the require d BS7671 standard.
Electric Heating
Electric heating has become more efficient in recent years. Various forms of Electric heating can be fitted as an alternative to gas-powered heating. Electric heating such as storage heaters, electric radiators and electric underfloor heating is cheaper and easier to install than their gas counterparts. You may already have a gas system that can be complemented by Electric upgrades such as electric towel rails and immersion heaters as a backup if your boiler ever fails.
Emergencies
Electricians are available within 2 hours for both domestic and commercial emergencies. Never attempt to diagnose or fix an electrical fault yourself. Always use a qualified electrician who understands electricity and electrical systems. Our electrician will give you advice over the phone on how best to deal with the situation.
Our emergency call-out service includes no call out charges, and electricians usually detect and rectify faults swiftly. Faults such as no power, flooding of the electrical system, weird noises or humming from the consumer unit, burning smells, melting sockets, tripping fuses and flickering lights.
Lighting
Lighting services include simple upgrades such as changing the light fittings to full lighting installation and design. We can fit the latest ambient, decorative, and task lighting fitted with the latest energy-saving LED bulbs for the home.
Outdoor Lighting
Outdoor Lighting for illuminating living areas, highlighting the architectural features of your home and motion sensor security lighting for outdoor safety and protecting vulnerable areas of your home.
Outdoor Power
Outdoor sockets enable the easy use of power tools and portable outdoor lights. Sockets can be fitted with built-in RCD’s that’ll cut out if an electric cable is ever accidentally cut. They are also weatherproof.
PAT Testing
Ensure your appliances are safe with PAT testing. Portable appliances are inspected and tested, verifying they’re safe to use by your tenants (if you’re a landlord) and employees (if you run a business).
RCD Replacement
Modern RCD, MCB, and RCBO fuses located in the consumer unit are incredibly safe and efficient. Occasionally a fuse in your consumer unit may need replacing (continuous tripping of a fuse could be a fault within the fuse itself). RCD replacement is a quick and simple process for our experienced electricians. If you have extra appliances or circuits added to your home, then you may require extra RCD fuses in your consumer unit.
Rewiring
Homes with older electrical systems may need rewiring. We undertake full and part rewiring, which is carried out to the required 17th Edition BS7671 regulations. Our electricians can install new wiring for extensions, conversions and refurbishments. Wiring should be inspected once every 10 years to ensure it’s safe. An inspection will establish if your home needs a rewire.
Sockets
Tired of the standard white plastic sockets? We can remove and upgrade them with a different colour or material to compliment your home, such as stainless steel. Present-day sockets can include USB ports so you can run appliances and charge your phone simultaneously. For those who need power points, extra sockets can be added in locations of your choice.
Showers
Electric showers heat water instantly and are a favourite in bathrooms around Southend. We fit all types of electric shower and the corresponding circuits/switches.
Smoke Alarms
Wired is an essential safety feature in both rented and owned properties (in fact, they are required by law if you’re a landlord or have an extension built). Wired smoke alarms are fitted on every floor and interconnected, so if there’s a fire on one floor, all alarms go off, alerting everyone in the home. Alarms with built-in carbon monoxide detectors are available also.
Switches
Upgrade your light switches to match your lights and the colours of your home, or move them into a more convenient position.
Telephone Points
Extra telephone points are added and positioned where you want them. Ideal for extra phones, home offices and wi-fi routers.
Commercial Electrical Contractors
We have a team of Electricians available for commercial electrical work and emergencies. Providing a professional service with work done to the highest quality.
Installations
Every commercial operation has its own unique needs from an electrical system; a custom solution is often required. Whatever your business, our electricians will build the ideal electrical installation for your business. We can also connect all types of appliances and machinery used in commercial premises.
All commercial electrical installations include the required EIC (Electrical Installation Certificates) and are fitted to the required IEE regulations, which ensure the installation is legal and safe.
Single, three-phase systems, Cat 5, Cat 5E & Cat 6 wiring, are covered under our services.
EICR & PAT Testing
An inspection of your electrical system (Electrical Inspection Condition Report) and portable appliances (PAT Testing) ensures your workplace is safe for your employees. If faults are identified during the inspection, arrangements can be made for correction. Once everything has passed, certificates are issued which prooves your electrical system and appliance are safe for use.
Lighting
We install commercial lighting for office, retail, warehouse, industrial and catering premises. Upgrading your lighting installation can benefit your business in many ways, such as production, health and safety, employee happiness and energy efficiency. Modern lighting is cheaper to run than older forms of commercial lighting, reducing wasted energy and saving money.
