Sockets & Switches are a vital part of our homes, powering the appliances that make modern life possible.

The importance of properly installed sockets cannot be overstated. They ensure the safety and efficiency of your electrical system.

Types Of Sockets & Switches

A variety of sockets are available for installation. Single sockets are ideal for stand-alone appliances, while double sockets offer more flexibility.

USB sockets provide the convenience of charging mobile devices directly, and shaver sockets are for the bathroom.

When it comes to switches single-pole switches are the most common type used to control a light or device from one location.

Double-pole switches, on the other hand, control circuits with higher amperage ratings, like heavy-duty appliances.

Three-way switches allow control of lights or appliances from two different locations, while four-way switches are used in conjunction with three-way switches to control lights from three or more locations.

Dimmer switches allow you to adjust light intensity, offering a range of lighting moods, and toggle switches operate by a simple lever action to turn the power on and off.

Meanwhile, timer switches turn lights or devices on and off at specific times, and motion detector switches activate lights when movement is detected.

Smart switches are also available, which allow you to control your lighting anywhere from an app.

Socket & Switch Materials & Finishes

Sockets also come in various materials and finishes, adding an aesthetic touch to the functionality. Options range from cost-effective and easy-to-clean plastic to metal for a modern look.

Chrome provides a reflective surface, while brushed steel adds a refined finish to any room.

The choice of material will depend on your room decor and personal taste.

Installation

The installation process is precise, efficient and tidy adhering to safety regulations and high standards.

Our Electrician’s commitment to quality workmanship ensures each installation is done right the first time, and thorough testing ensures functionality and safety.

Here’s a typical installation procedure

  1. Disconnecting the Power Supply: Before any work commences, the power to the installation area is turned off to ensure the safety of the Electrician and those in the home at the time of installation.
  2. Removal of old Sockets: Old sockets are removed the existing wiring is inspected.
  3. Preparing the Wall Surface: In cases of new installations, a hole might is cut into the wall to accommodate the new socket. New wires are run to the consumer unit.
  4. Connecting the Wires to the Socket: The Electrician will then attach the wires to the new socket.
  5. Fixing the Socket in Place: The socket is secured tightly to the wall once the wires have been connected.
  6. Testing the Socket: After power is re-established, the Electrician tests the socket to confirm that the socket is wired correctly and is safe for use.

Once installed, your new Sockets & Switches will provide many years of service.
